The Sitka Center's Workshop Program offers
intensive explorations of various artistic and natural science issues.
Workshops are held from April – October. Classes are 1 – 5
days long, and cost from $50 to $495. All instruction takes place in one
of the Center's four studios or outdoors in the spectacular surroundings.
Workshops are usually for students ages 16 and up. Subject matter includes drawing and painting, book and paper arts, journal and nature writing, woodcarving, photography, fibers, printmaking, calligraphy, sculpture, and the natural sciences. Instructors are some of the finest teachers, artists, and scientists in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

2010 Sitka Center Workshop Season
Welcome to a season of new ideas at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology! We invite you to explore our 2010 workshop catalog online and discover for yourself the alchemy of transformation that occurs in this extraordinary place. (Catalog available the first of February.) In addition to courses by some of our most popular instructors, you'll find many new things at the Sitka Center this year. We've added a number of new instructors for 2010. Workshop registration
Early registration for Sitka members begins on February 16, 2010 and opens to all on March 1, 2010. Some of our most popular workshops fill up fast, so register early to guarantee your place! If you are not already a member and wish to join at the time you register for a workshop, you will be entitled to our members-only early registration period. Registration are accepted online or by mail, fax, or phone. For online registrations, we utilize industry standard 256-bit SSL encryption during our online checkout process, which ensures that your information is protected and secure during its journey between your computer and our office.
Discounts
There are two ways to get discounts on Sitka Workshops
- Become a Member. Members get disounts up to 30% on classes based on membership amount.
- Group Discount. Recruit three friends to take the class with you and each person receives 15% off the tuition portion of the class. Our goal is to support you in bringing new people to Sitka's workshops.
- Group discount cannot be combined with the member discount. You are welcome to apply the higher discount.
- There must be room for 4 people in the workshop so please check the enrollment status.
- Discount applies to tuition only.
- All four people must register together. Payment is accepted separately or together. Please call us to make arrangements at 541-994-5485.
- In order to take advantage of early registration, all four people must be members. Memberships start at $50

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Some popular classes have a waiting list. Please check our workshop status page for class availability. If enrollment maximum is reached, your name will be added to a wait list. If an enrolled student cancels, Sitka will notify the first person on the wait list.
Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel your registration, a refund is given for cancellations made more than 21 days before the workshop begins minus a $25 administrative fee. Please provide written notice to i...@sitkacenter.org so that we can issue you a refund. Note: refunds will be issued by check only or applied towards registration in another workshop. There is no refund for cancellations received less than 21 days before the first day of the workshop because we will have already made committments to the instructor.
Schedule Changes
Sitka may cancel a workshop if enrollement is fewer than five students two weeks before a workshop is to begin. We will notify you of the cancellation and you will receive a full refund. We make every effort to avoid canceling workshops or changing the schedule, but sometimes circumstances beyond our control necessitate changes. If you have registered for a workshop, you will be notified personally about any changes, so please provide appropriate phone numbers and/or email address for daytime contact. Note: Outdoor workshops are rarely cancelled because of inclement weather.
